Many of you might think that wine is just made of grapes, but that’s not true. Grapes are one of the best fruits to make wine easily but there are many other fruits you can use to make wine.

In the market, the excess amount of wine is available with grape flavour because people have a lot of expectations with it and they know how it tastes. The other fruit-made wines are also worth exploring.

Most college students and youngsters like to drink almost every type of wine whether it is bottled or bagged. It is always a better idea to try a wine that is made from fruits other than grapes or the blends of different fruits.

Plum Wine

Plum wine is popular in the USA but in Japan, it is referred to as Plum liquor. You can easily make plum wine at home. You can even drink it on its own as it is commonly used in cocktails. Other popular Asian liquors using fruits include yuzu and lychee liquor.

You need to chop the plums to ferment them and prepare wine with excellent color. It tastes better if aged for a year or more.

Pomegranate Wine

If we talk about pomegranate wine, it doesn’t only offer a rich taste but also health benefits. This amazing fruit is loaded with Vitamin A, C, and E that are helpful to reduce inflammation and it is also good for your skin. You need to ferment it into wine but still, you will get all the health benefits of it. 

You can buy it online as it is not commonly available in stores. People also make their own pomegranate wine at home. 

Apple Wine

You might have heard of the cider. Well, it is almost the same as apple wine and the difference is just the amount of sugar it contains. The wine that is made of fermented apples can easily be carbonated and you can use it whenever you want.

Also, the colour of apple wine is white and it tastes better when it is aged for a minimum of 2 years or more. 

Pumpkin Wine

You might be amazed to see the pumpkin in the list of fruits to make wine. Many of you might also don’t know that it is a fruit and you can check the wines, cakes, and pumpkin pies recipes online. Many people prefer to use it on Halloween and thanksgiving to make different recipes. 

To prepare Pumpkin wine you just need 6 main ingredients. Also, you can add clove, ginger, or cinnamon to add extra flavour. You can also find this wine online in different places.

Kiwi Wine

This sweet fruit wine is also not commonly available in the market. You have to buy it online or just make it at home. You can make Kiwi wine whenever it is Kiwi season.

Try to drink it in the summer along with fresh fruit, salad, or gazpacho.

Berry Wine (Strawberry, Raspberry, Blueberry, and Blackberry)

Berries are not only rich in a good amount of sugar but also contain a lot of natural acid additives. The acidity of berries can make the wine pretty sour but to fix this, we can add water. 

Berries wines are most commonly prepared by the home winemakers and artisans. You may not find it out in the stores to buy. It is most commonly found at fairs and farmer markets.

The berries that are used to make wine are as follows:

  • Blackberries: This wine yields a bold red wine and it is best to use when aged 2 years. The taste will be epic if you add apple or pear into it. 
  • Blueberries: This wine makes a light rose wine and it is ready to drink after 1 year.
  • Raspberries: Raspberry wine is quite delicious on its own and they are quite useful to improve the color and aroma of wines.
  • Strawberries: Strawberries wine is such a sweetheart of the wine collection but you have to ferment it for a long time. While preparing it at home, don’t hurry to bottle it and age it for a year or more for the best taste.

Grape Wine

Last but not the least, Grapes. This fruit wine is available everywhere and it is also made from fermented grapes. The grapes that are used to make wine are specific as they are small in size and sweeter with the seeds inside.
